Accessibility

Last updated

We want everyone to be able to use readystatestudios.com, whatever device you're on and however you browse. This page says what we've done, how we've checked it, and how to tell us if something gets in your way.

What we aim for

We build the site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the standard most UK websites work to.

What you can do on this site

  • use it with a keyboard alone. Every link and button shows a clear outline when it has focus, and a “Skip to content” link lets you jump past the menu
  • use it with a screen reader. Pages have a proper heading structure, images that carry meaning have text descriptions, and decorative artwork is hidden from screen readers
  • zoom in as far as your browser allows. The site never blocks zooming, and the layout adapts to narrow screens without scrolling sideways
  • turn animations off. If your device is set to reduce motion, the site's animations are switched off
  • read text with enough contrast. Text colours are checked against every background the site uses, and links inside sentences are underlined, so they don't rely on colour alone
  • say no to analytics cookies as easily as yes. Both choices in the cookie bar are styled the same and sit side by side

How we checked

On 6 November 2026 we tested every page in Chrome at phone, tablet and desktop sizes with the axe accessibility checker, which found no problems, and checked the main pages with Google Lighthouse, which scored each of them 100 for accessibility. We also looked over the main pages by eye on phone and desktop.

Automated tools can't find every problem, and the site hasn't yet had an independent audit or been tested by people who use assistive technology every day. If you are one of those people and something doesn't work for you, we especially want to hear from you.

What isn't covered

  • other websites we link to, such as CurseForge, MCPEDL, YouTube and Discord. Their accessibility is up to the companies that run them
  • videos embedded from YouTube, which use YouTube's own player
  • the add-ons themselves, which run inside Minecraft. Minecraft has its own accessibility settings, such as subtitles, the narrator and text size

Tell us about a problem

If anything on the site is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, email support@readystatestudios.com. Tell us the page and what happened, and we'll reply as soon as we can and work on a fix.
