Install guide

Installing a .mcaddon file

  1. Download the .mcaddon file from CurseForge or MCPEDL.
  2. Open the file. Minecraft Bedrock launches and imports the add-on.
  3. Wait for the “Import successful” message.
  4. Create a new world or edit an existing one, then turn the add-on on under Behaviour Packs.

Playing on console? Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch can't open .mcaddon files. You can still play our add-ons on console by joining a Realm or server that uses them, set up from Windows, iOS or Android.

If something goes wrong

The add-on doesn't appear under Behaviour Packs
Import the file again and check that Minecraft is up to date. Restart the game if it still doesn't show.
Textures or models look wrong
Check that the matching resource pack is on under Resource Packs and sits above any other packs that change the same blocks or mobs.
“Import failed” message
The download may be incomplete. Delete the file, download it again and open the new copy.

Compatibility

Where our add-ons work

Minecraft Bedrock platforms and whether they can import a .mcaddon file directly.
PlatformOpens .mcaddon files
WindowsYes
AndroidYes
iOS / iPadOSYes
XboxNo
PlayStationNo
Nintendo SwitchNo
Multiplayer & Realms
Add-ons work in multiplayer worlds and on Realms. Players who join download the packs automatically.
Other add-ons
Our add-ons work alongside most others. When two packs change the same thing, the one higher in your world's pack list wins, so reorder them if something looks wrong.
Java Edition
Not supported. Everything we make is built for Bedrock Edition.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I add an add-on to a world I've already started?

Yes. Edit the world, open Behaviour Packs and turn the add-on on. Make a copy of the world first, as you would before adding any add-on.

Do add-ons work in multiplayer and on Realms?

Yes. When a world uses an add-on, players who join download its packs automatically. Every player sees the same content.

Can I use more than one Ready State add-on in the same world?

Yes. Our add-ons are built to run together. If two add-ons from different creators change the same thing, the one higher in the pack list takes priority.

Are your add-ons available for Java Edition?

No. Everything we make is built for Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

How do I update an add-on?

Download the latest version and open it the same way as the first install. Minecraft replaces the old version, and your worlds pick up the update next time you load them.
