Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Ready State Studios collects when you use readystatestudios.com, why, and what your rights are. The short version: we only use analytics cookies if you agree to them, and otherwise collect just what's needed to run the site and reply to you.
Who we are
Ready State Studios is an independent games studio based in the UK. We're responsible for the personal data described in this policy. For anything about your data, email legal@readystatestudios.com.
What we collect
When you browse the site. You don't need an account and there are no forms. Like every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request and when. We use this only to keep the site running and secure, and it's deleted after a short period.
When you email us. We receive your email address, name (if you include it) and whatever you write. We use it to reply and keep it only as long as needed to deal with your message.
Settings stored in your browser. If you close the announcement bar at the top of the site, your browser remembers that so it stays closed. This is stored only on your device and never sent to us.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site, such as which pages are popular and which devices people use. It only runs if you click "Accept analytics"; until then nothing is loaded from Google and no analytics cookies are set.
If you accept, Google Analytics:
- sets two cookies,
_gaand_ga_V3SSZ5HR0L, which last up to two years and let it recognise repeat visits - records the pages you visit, how you arrived, roughly where you are (country and city), and your device and browser type
- doesn't store your IP address
We've switched off Google Signals and advertising features, so this data isn't used to show you ads. Google processes it on our behalf, and we keep analytics data for no longer than 14 months.
You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Choosing "Reject" switches analytics off straight away and deletes its cookies from your browser.
Fonts and images are served from our own site, so loading a page doesn't send your details to font or image services.
Videos and links to other sites
Some add-on pages may include YouTube videos, shown in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube only receives information about you if you play a video, and then Google's privacy policy applies.
Links to Discord, CurseForge, MCPEDL, YouTube, X, Instagram and TikTok take you to sites run by other companies. Their privacy policies apply once you're there.
Why we're allowed to use your data
- Legitimate interests: running and securing the website (server logs) and replying to messages you send us.
- Consent: for Google Analytics, which only runs if you accept it. You can withdraw consent at any time from Cookie settings.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We share it only with the services that help us run the studio: our website hosting provider, our email provider (Google Workspace) and, if you accept analytics, Google Analytics. They process data on our behalf and under our instructions. Some of these providers may store data outside the UK; when they do, they use the safeguards UK law requires, such as approved contract terms.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your data
- stop or limit how we use it, or object to it being used
- send your data to you or another organisation in a portable format
Email legal@readystatestudios.com and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Many Minecraft players are young, so we keep the site free of accounts, tracking and data collection. If you're under 13 and want to contact us, please ask a parent or guardian to email us for you. If we learn we've received a child's personal data without a parent's involvement, we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if the way we handle data changes, and change the date at the top. Questions? Email legal@readystatestudios.com or see our Terms of Use.
